Periskal Inland ECDIS Viewer is the standard navigation software for inland waterway navigation. The program connects to GPS and/or AIS transponders and continuously displays the vessel's position on the screen. All information necessary for navigation can be found on the map. It contains all information such as VHF channels, radar information, radio reporting points, place names, distance markers, bridge heights, port numbers, bridge images, etc. VHF channels and river kilometers are displayed in a separate window. Placed near the radar, Periskal Inland ECDIS Viewer helps to distinguish between ships and buoys. Navigation is possible in "North Up", "Course Up" and "Radar" modes.

The software has been developed in accordance with the Inland ECDIS regulations, a standard approved by the EU, CCNR, and the Danube Commission. It complies with all rules specified in the EU RIS Directive. All maps are in S-57 v2.3/v2.4 format. The product complies with the requirements for mandatory electronic chart systems on the Rhine River as specified by the Rhine Commission and the German authorities.

Official maps from European river authorities and private data from Periskal can be used. Actual water levels can be displayed manually by entering "pegels" or automatically via mobile data (4G).

Periskal products are used in inland waterway transport, rescue boats, passenger ships, fishing boats, ferries, dredgers, cranes, sea-going vessels, aircraft, police and customs vessels, fire departments, port patrol boats, etc. Today, more than 6,000 ships in Europe navigate using Periskal software and maps.

As a user of navigation software, you are familiar with the phenomenon that your ship's route is not always accurate. The problem lies in the GPS and occurs when the vessel is "stationary" and makes "rapid" turns. The problem can be solved with a very expensive gyroscopic compass or an expensive GPS compass.
