What types of tools are included in the classic tool kit?
Such a set might include the following tools: torque wrenches, Allen key set, wrench set, screwdrivers, combination and classic pliers, hammer, saw, spirit level and possibly a protractor, as well as a pen or pencil.
What is the difference between different sizes of socket wrench sets and how do I choose the right one?
A socket wrench tool kit is part of every workshop's basic equipment, as these tools are essential when fitting vehicles, motorbikes and bikes. A socket wrench is also known by many as a crova. But these kits are very different from traditional tool kits, as this tool kit contains only sockets and crank.
The most common version of crova kits is 1/2" in size. What does this mean? It means that the diameter of the sockets for the ratchet cranks or socket heads is 1/2" in length. In this set you will find sockets from 8 to 36mm. If you would like to expand your set further, this is also possible, as many bits and accessories are produced with this connection size.
Do you need a special tool kit when repairing a vehicle or household appliance?
Specialist electrical tools include blanching or crimping pliers, phase finders, phase detectors, multimeters, voltmeters. If you want to repair or install a lamp, switch or socket, a conventional set of tools will not be enough.
Electrician toolkits are also a pleasure to work with for electricity enthusiasts. Cable ties or multidetectors are also essential in this type of kit. But there are also toolkits specifically designed for vehicle repair. These often include a wide range of screwdrivers and wrenches.
What to look for when buying a tool kit?
As there are now many tool kit manufacturers, prices vary widely. The question inevitably arises as to how to recognise a good tool kit. One thing is certain, choose a set in which the tools have the right hardness. Their material should be durable, rustproof and robust. How can you tell if your tool kit is hard enough? We can judge this by the weight of the tools.
Before buying a tool kit, carefully assess how many and what kind of tools you will need, because often we are tempted to buy a kit with far more tools than we will ever need.
In this category, many manufacturers want to outdo each other with the number of tools they have. Of course a complete tool kit is attractive, but surely we'll need that many tools? Remember, you'll need to carry this kit if you're constantly on the move.
Let's focus on the quality of the tool kit!
Remember that the tools in cheaper tool kits often buckle under heavy use, and drill bits can break. If you only use these tools as a hobbyist on weekends, you may not notice the details because you rarely use them. Because we don't put them through constant wear and tear, but when used professionally, bad tools can be nerve-wracking.
Where should we keep our tool kit?
You can keep it in a tool case, a box, a trolley or perhaps a tool backpack. The use of these containers depends on how many tools you have and for what purpose. After all, it makes a difference whether you just need to conveniently pull the rolling tool box out of the garage or carry the heavy tool suitcase by hand.
The longer the hauling trips, the more useful a compact tool box with fewer tools is. Make sure to keep your tool bag or suitcase dry at all times. Otherwise it can rust quickly, especially in a damp cellar!
