What can a LoRa system be used for?

Originally, this type of antenna was created to provide high quality communications and signal transmission between machines in infrastructurally backward or unserved areas. The advantage of transceivers is that they have an extremely low power consumption, so they can operate maintenance-free for years. Thanks to their typically built-in batteries, they do not require any additional power supply and operate reliably and stably.

It can transmit a relatively large amount of information by message and does not require the establishment and maintenance of a communication channel, making it a very efficient tool for low-power remote sensing. It is widely used in agriculture, industry (e.g. air quality measurement), asset protection, remote monitoring and tracking.

Where can we find LoRa antennas?

This type of antenna can be used to monitor utility consumption, control and operate smart homes and is often used for building surveillance. In agriculture, it is mainly used for weather monitoring and irrigation control, allowing the farmer to easily identify possible faults such as a water leak, to obtain information on possible maintenance needs and to optimise farm activities based on the data.

The long-range and low-power devices can be used in all types of outdoor and indoor installations. They are ideal for cities, smart logistics, supply chain, smart homes, metering and agriculture.

How far can LoRa transmit?

A LoRa-based gateway can receive and transmit signals over a distance of more than 15 kilometres in rural areas.

The frequency bands used by LoRa antennas are unlicensed: 915 MHz in North America, the same band as GSM (3G). 868 MHz in Europe and 433 MHz in Asia.

What types are available?

There are omnidirectional, omni-directional and hemispherical types, while omni-directional transmits evenly in all directions in a 360-degree "donut" shape, while omni-directional transmits in a specific direction - resulting in greater transmission distance and less interference, while hemispherical transmits in half the field in a "hemispherical" shape.

The maximum power ranges from 1-100W, and the same is true for the frequency range of the antennas we offer, from 824-960 MHz to 1710-2700 MHz. The connection of our LoRa antennas is either N socket or FME plug.
