Our Environmental Commitments

At DND Telecom Center Kft., we believe that commercially sustainable, profitable operations and the responsible protection of our environment can go hand in hand.

As a company, our goal is to conduct our business in a sustainable manner with the lowest possible environmental impact, thereby setting an example for both our customers and partners.

For this reason, we commit to regularly assessing how we can take steps toward sustainable operations in each area, given our current circumstances. Starting in 2026, we are making the following commitments in each area and have identified future opportunities:

1. Electricity consumption
2. Natural gas and heat energy consumption
3. Water consumption
4. Use of chemicals required for office maintenance
5. Paper consumption required for office maintenance
6. Packaging consumption
7. Waste management
8. Logistics
9. Travel
10. Digital Footprint
11. Product Lifecycle
12. Employee Engagement

1. Electricity consumption

Electricity consumption is a constant environmental factor in our business operations, as our office equipment, lighting, IT systems, and the operation of our business premises all require energy. Our goal is to continuously reduce electricity consumption through mindful usage, energy-efficient equipment, and modern solutions. From an environmental perspective, the desired direction is to perform the same work with less energy consumption and a smaller carbon footprint.

Electric energy
  • We provide lighting using energy-efficient LED light sources
  • We use energy-saving mode (sleep/hibernation) on all PCs, monitors, and printers
  • By selecting an appropriate temperature for air conditioning (we do not cool below 25°C) and ensuring adequate ventilation, we reduce energy consumption
  • We perform regular maintenance and filter replacement on air conditioners and ventilation systems, as they operate much more efficiently when clean
  • When replacing or purchasing new equipment, we prioritize A and B energy efficiency rated units

2. Natural gas and thermal energy usage

Energy consumption related to heating, cooling, and the comfortable operation of the building can have a significant impact on the environment and therefore deserves special attention. We strive to use thermal energy sparingly, avoid unnecessary heating or cooling, and improve the building’s energy efficiency. The goal is to establish operations that provide a suitable environment for employees while reducing energy consumption and emissions.

Natural Gas and Thermal Energy
  • In our office we use a boiler with an "A" heating energy efficiency rating for heating
  • Using a programmable thermostat, we keep the heating at a lower temperature outside of working hours
  • We do not set the heating temperature higher than 22°C using the programmable thermostat
  • We use air-spring closures on entrance doors to ensure they do not remain open

3. Water consumption

Water is a valuable natural resource, which is why we consider economical and responsible water use to be important in our business operations. Although a commercial enterprise’s water consumption is typically not on an industrial scale, daily habits and well-maintained equipment can still make a significant difference. Our goal is to avoid waste, quickly repair leaks, and strengthen our employees’ water-conscious mindset.

Water usage
  • Use an aerator (water-saving filter) on faucets: less water, less energy for heating
  • Setting the water heater to a low temperature (60 °C) reduces overheating
  • Immediate repair of dripping faucets and leaking toilet tanks
  • Use of a water filter dispenser in our office, which operates on the municipal drinking water system. Avoiding bottled water
  • Use a sink basin or dishwasher instead of running water, which is more economical

4. Use of chemicals necessary for office maintenance

Keeping the office and business premises clean is necessary, but the use of cleaning agents and other chemicals can have an environmental impact. Therefore, we address in a separate section the decisions that can reduce unnecessary chemical use and prioritize more environmentally friendly products. Our goal is to maintain a hygienic work environment while minimizing the impact of chemicals on the environment and health.

Chemical use
  • We use concentrate-based cleaning products, which result in less packaging, fewer transportation emissions, and reduced storage space
  • We use cleaning products that are made from natural materials and are biodegradable

5. Paper consumption required for office operations

Reducing paper consumption simultaneously promotes resource conservation, waste reduction, and more efficient administration. Many office processes can be replaced or simplified with digital solutions. Our goal is to use paper only when truly necessary and, wherever possible, recycled or responsibly sourced paper.

Paper consumption
  • When purchasing paper for office use (e.g., photocopy paper, paper towels, toilet paper), we give preference to paper products that are 100% recycled or produced from certified sustainable sources
  • On our computers, we use double-sided printing as the default setting
  • We use electronic invoicing, contract, and document management
  • We use digital notepads or notepads made from recycled paper (e.g., OneNote, Google Keep) instead of paper notepads

6. Packaging usage

As an online store and commercial enterprise, the use of packaging materials is a key environmental priority for us. Proper packaging protects the product, but it is also important not to use an excessive amount of material or materials that are difficult to recycle. Our goal is safe yet economical packaging, increasing the proportion of recyclable and reused materials, and reducing unnecessary packaging waste.

Packaging usage
  • To reduce packaging material during order picking, we primarily use packaging material received from suppliers, thereby reducing the need for new packaging material
  • For packaging materials, we use 100% reusable paper and cardboard packaging
  • To fill the boxes, we use cornstarch-based filler made from fully biodegradable, natural materials
  • For adhesive tape, we use biodegradable tape coated with paper and natural rubber/solvent adhesive
  • In our store, we provide our customers with biodegradable textile, paper, or cornstarch-based biodegradable PLA bags
  • We use sealable plastic bags made from recycled plastic

7. Waste management

Treating waste management as a separate chapter is important because the fate of the waste generated directly affects the environmental impact. We strive to reduce the amount of waste, promote selective collection, and ensure the proper handling of recyclable materials. Our environmental goal is to ensure that as little waste as possible ends up in landfills and that as many materials as possible remain in circulation.

Waste management
  • We use trash bags made from cornstarch-based biodegradable PLA or recycled plastic
  • We use large-format office cleaning and dishwashing supplies which result in less packaging waste
  • Instead of coffee capsules, we use a traditional coffee machine or refillable capsules
  • We collect paper waste
  • Separate collection of electrical and electronic waste (WEEE) (e.g., faulty cables, adapters)

8. Logistics

In the field of logistics, the primary environmental goal is to reduce fuel consumption, kilometers traveled, and travel time. By consciously organizing deliveries, procurement, and administrative tasks, we can reduce harmful emissions while also making operations more efficient. Our goal is to carry out transportation and logistics tasks in a more coordinated manner, with fewer unnecessary trips and better capacity utilization.

Logistics
  • We prefer to handle package delivery through specialized courier companies that enable reduced CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption through consolidated shipping, compared to handling the delivery process in-house
  • For domestic purchases involving multiple orders, we request consolidated delivery whenever time permits
  • Fixed weekly delivery days help save on fuel and costs
  • We plan our procurement routes using route optimization software
  • Through regular maintenance of our vehicles (proper tire selection and tire pressure, oil changes, filters, engine maintenance), we place a high priority on reducing fuel and lubricant consumption and ensuring emissions comply with environmental regulations
  • We maintain communication with our contracted parcel delivery partners regarding the level of CO2 emissions associated with parcel delivery, and we disclose this information to our customers
  • In our online store, we offer the option to offset CO2 emissions associated with home delivery by making it possible to purchase tree planting

9. Travel

Employees’ commutes, business trips, and travel related to company business also contribute to our company’s environmental impact. That is why we consider it important to implement solutions that reduce individual car use, support conscious route planning, and prioritize more environmentally friendly modes of transportation. Our goal is to ensure that travel is truly necessary, well-organized, and has the lowest possible environmental impact given the circumstances.

Travel
  • To reduce the environmental impact of commuting, we provide a bicycle-friendly workplace with storage, showers, and changing rooms
  • We prefer that the primary channels for communicating with partners be online meetings, phone calls, and email
  • We conduct partner visits using company cars only when justified, by combining multiple client visits
  • For business trips abroad, depending on the distance, we prefer trains over flights
  • We prefer online meetings and trainingto reduce travel
  • We provide home office options for specific job roles and tasks

10. Digital footprint

The energy consumption associated with online operations, data traffic, IT equipment, and cloud-based services is less visible but has a real environmental impact. That is why we treat the digital footprint as a separate area, since unnecessarily stored data, oversized systems, and wasteful digital processes also consume energy. Our goal is more conscious data management, extending the lifespan of IT equipment, and reducing the energy requirements of online operations.

Digital Footprint
  • To reduce data traffic, we will optimize the images on the website and online store , configure caching (fewer server requests, faster page loading) , and remove unnecessary plugins and scripts (lower CPU usage, lower energy consumption on both the server and client sides)
  • We perform regular data archiving and email cleanup (large attachments, duplicates), delete unnecessary files, thereby reducing the need to purchase new hardware
  • We unsubscribe from unnecessary newsletters and automatic notifications
  • We strive to send our newsletters only to genuinely interested parties, with targeted content

11. Product circularity

Keeping products in circulation means ensuring that products, components, and packaging materials are used for as long as possible and do not become waste prematurely. As a commercial enterprise, we have a responsibility to encourage the use of durable, repairable products that can be supported with replacement parts and managed responsibly. Our goal is to extend the life cycle of products and, where possible, prioritize repair, reuse, or proper recycling over disposal.

Product cycle
  • We make user manuals available in digital format alongside the product.
  • We operate a battery and rechargeable battery collection point in our store
  • If the supplier allows it, we make spare parts available to our customers for the products we sell
  • We provide repair and maintenance advice for the products we sell

12. Employee commitment

Environmental commitments only work in everyday life if employees understand, accept, and apply them in their own decisions. That is why awareness-raising, internal communication, and shared responsibility are key components of our environmental mission statement. Our goal is for sustainable operations to be part of our everyday work not as a separate task, but as a natural part of our corporate mindset.

Employee Commitment
  • We actively involve our employees in shaping our company’s environmental commitments
  • We incorporate our environmental commitment into our Code of Conduct, which provides a clear and unambiguous operational framework for all colleagues
  • In terms of environmental awareness and sustainable operations, we provide regular training to our colleagues
