The Tenmars TM-192 is a hand-held instrument for measuring extremely low frequency, ELF magnetic fields over a frequency range of 30-2000 Hz. It uses three internal orthogonal sensors for measurements on the X, Y and Z axes, making measurement independent of measurement angle. The instrument can be used to measure magnetic fields around electric transmission equipment, power lines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, refrigerators, computer monitors, video and audio devices, home appliances and industrial devices.

By default, the instrument displays the triaxial total magnetic field reading. The controls allow switching between the three independent X, Y and Z single-axis magnetic field readings and the triaxial total magnetic field reading.

When manual range mode is selected, the LCD displays OL if the reading is overloaded. A higher measurement range can then be selected.

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the instrument. Do not use a wet cloth, solvents or water.

Tenmars TM-192 measurement procedure

• Measurement units can be selected between mG and uT
• Position the front of the meter towards the magnetic field to be measured
• Move the instrument slowly towards the object under measurement
• Field intensity may increase as the instrument moves closer to the object
• If the object is switched off during measurement, the reading should return to zero unless an electromagnetic field from another source is detected

Due to magnetic interference from environmental factors, the magnetic field meter may display a reading greater than 0.5 mG before measurement. This does not indicate a malfunction of the instrument.
