Whether you are cooking, reading a book or just relaxing, you need enough light to see what you are doing. But interior lights in caravans and trucks not only provide the right lighting, they also create a cosy and homely atmosphere. Motorhome lights come in a variety of types and styles, from a swan-neck lamp with a touch switch, to a roof-mounted swivel spotlight, or an LED lamp with a built-in USB charging port.

What colour and temperature of Interior Lighting does the motorhome interior lighting available from DND's webshop emit?

Lighting in motorhomes must meet a variety of requirements, even though the human eye is very flexible and can easily adapt to current lighting conditions. Warm white light is most pleasing to our eyes, which is why all the light sources available in the DND Telecom webshop for motorhomes and trucks are equipped with such lighting.

When it comes to lamp properties, the colour of light is given in Kelvin (K). When classifying them, the following data should be taken into account. If the manufacturer gives a value below 3300 K, you can be sure that the lamp emits a warm white colour. For a natural white colour, this value ranges between 3300 and 5300 K. A cool white colour is above 5300 K.

For interior lighting in trailers and trucks, pay attention to their energy consumption!

If you want to buy interior lighting for a caravan or truck, it is important to pay attention to the voltage of the lamps. In campsites, 230 V is not always available. It is therefore advisable to choose LED lamps with 10-15 volts. This is also an ideal choice because the lights are powered by the vehicle's battery, which means that there will always be lighting in the car. 12 V LED lights are available in different types in our online shop, such as the 12 V LED swivel spotlight or the gooseneck LED light, which also has a built-in USB charging port. So if you're reading a book in the evening, you can charge your phone while you read.

Is it possible to control the brightness or colour temperature of the interior light fittings in a caravan?

When we're on the road in our truck, or on a road trip in our motorhome, or camping at the campsite, we want to enjoy as much luxury as possible. Of course, this includes proper and cosy vehicle interior lighting. But how can we light the interior of our vehicle optimally? Where should I place the lights and what are the best bulbs? We are right to ask these questions, as we have much less space in the vehicle than at home. That's why we should choose rotatable and dimmable spotlights using LED lighting technology, which also consume much less energy than a conventional lamp.

Do you need special electrical knowledge when installing interior lighting in vehicles?

When installing lights in motorhomes and trucks, you don't need any special electrical knowledge, just a minimum of manual skills and a few suitable tools. If you do not have the time to do this, DND Telecom Ltd. will be happy to install the lights for you.

Which long-life vehicle interior lighting to choose?

LED light sources offer many advantages in terms of efficiency, durability and aesthetics. Today, LED interior lighting is the best choice for us if we want to effectively illuminate the interior of our motorhome for the long term. This is because LED technology not only provides a cheaper light source than halogen, it also has a much longer lifespan. What does this mean in concrete terms? In terms of lifetime, it means exactly 25,000 hours. That is a considerable amount of time. That means that if you had a spotlight on continuously without switching it off, it would last for 3 years.

But it also means that we don't have to worry about the bulb burning out and, if we don't have a spare, we're left without light in the middle of the night. But that's not the only reason to get a light source with this technology. We can reduce energy consumption by 80 percent by switching from classic halogen spotlights to modern LED lamps. This saves the caravan's battery and we save money. An additional advantage is that, unlike compact fluorescent lamps, LED interior lights do not need to warm up and produce their full light intensity immediately.

Why choose the right caravan lighting from the DND Telecom webshop? Because they all allow you to adjust the luminaire to your needs.
