But make sure you set the temperature of the fridge and freezer in your caravan to a temperature that is ideal for the food you are storing. Because even a minimal difference of just two degrees increases the consumption of your appliances by a good ten percent.

But when is a fridge or freezer considered quiet? Most refrigerators operate at noise levels between 35 and 45 decibels. Quiet appliances operate at less than 40 decibels. Very quiet models make less noise than 35 decibels.

This is not very good because in the summer the interior of the caravan is already hot and the heat from the unit adds to this. Absorption chillers are quieter than compressor chillers, but unfortunately their efficiency is much lower. Cooling is achieved with a water-ammonia mixture. This offers a much more environmentally friendly solution than the compressor version.

In the case of absorption cooling, using heat from renewable sources can save primary energy and significantly reduce the load on the system.
