Further details of Gigahertz-Solutions HF38B Handheld HF Meter 700 MHz - 3.3 GHz

The Gigahertz Solutions HF38B high-frequency RF analyser measures frequencies from 700 MHz-2.7 GHz, extending up to 3.3 GHz with increased tolerances. In addition to the functions of the HF35C, the instrument provides higher sensitivity, an extended upper measurement range and a Peak Hold function. Its frequency range covers GSM, UMTS, LTE, 2G, 3G, 4G and all Sub-3-GHz 5G bands, including the 700 MHz band, as well as DECT, the lower WLAN/WiFi and radar band, and microwave ovens.

Gigahertz Solutions HF38B measurement characteristics

• Frequency range: 700 MHz-2.7 GHz
• Frequency range with increased tolerances: up to 3.3 GHz
• Power flux density measurement range: 0.01-19,990 uW/m2
• Display resolution: 0.01 uW/m2
• Basic accuracy for CW signals including linearity error: +/-6 dB
• Zero point deviation and special digitizing error, rollover: +/-9 digits
• Peak value display
• Average value display
• Peak Hold function
• Fully frequency compensated

The HF38B displays the sum of all existing radiation at the measurement location. Measured values are displayed directly in the unit used for building biology precautionary values without requiring additional calculations.

HF38B optimized LogPer measuring antenna

• Optimized logarithmic-periodic measuring antenna
• Lower ripple
• Lower bearing deviation
• Improved downward shielding
• Higher accuracy at the lower and upper ends of the frequency range
• Plug-on design with antenna cable

The HF38B uses an external LogPer antenna for detecting and measuring high-frequency electromagnetic radiation. The antenna characteristics also allow users to detect and measure hidden sources of high-frequency electromagnetic radiation.

Gigahertz Solutions HF38B frequency coverage

• GSM
• UMTS
• LTE
• 2G
• 3G
• 4G
• Sub-3-GHz 5G bands
• 700 MHz band
• DECT
• Lower WLAN/WiFi band
• Radar band
• Microwave oven frequencies

The instrument operates over a nominal frequency range of 700 MHz-2.7 GHz. Its frequency range extends up to 3.3 GHz with increased tolerances.

HF38B Peak Hold and signal evaluation

• Peak measurement
• Average value measurement
• Switchable Peak and average value signal evaluation
• Peak Hold function

The Peak Hold function is provided to simplify measurement. The HF38B can measure both peak and average power flux density values.

HF38B audio analysis

• Audio signal proportional to modulation frequency and field strength
• Supports identification of pulsed radiation sources
• Supports detection of elevated exposures
• Supports identification of GSM and DECT radiation sources
• Supports differentiation of mobile phone, WiFi, DECT and radar radiation sources

Audio analysis allows different radiation sources to be distinguished by their corresponding audio signals. The function can be used when examining mobile phone, WiFi, DECT and radar sources.

Gigahertz Solutions HF38B applications

• Indoor measurement
• Outdoor measurement
• Measurement requirements of EHS patients, electrohypersensitives
• For physicians and alternative practitioners
• Evaluation of personal high-frequency exposure
• Definition of targeted remediation measures
• Monitoring the effectiveness of implemented measures

The HF38B provides ten times the sensitivity of the HF35C and a ten times extended upper measurement range. It can be used both indoors and outdoors, although the meter must be protected from moisture during outdoor measurements.
