Albrecht Marine Antenna

VHF marine antennas for marine radios form a separate group among VHF antennas. This is because these are typically so-called counterweight (work without ground plane) antennas, meaning that you do not need to attach the antenna to the center of a larger metal surface to use it. Because many boats already have only fiberglass or some other plastic surface, these boat antennas can be easily attached to any surface. A further feature of these antennas is that they only operate in the VHF sailing frequency band, whereas there they are in the full range and typically do not require special tuning. Unlike traditional antennas, marine VHF antennas are made of fiberglass to withstand salt seawater. Alan and Midland marine antennas from the DND Telecom Center.
